Our Heat tanks come equipped with circulation pump and a filter to keep your glycerin clean and a consistent temperature. No Hot Spots as you see in traditional heating tanks.
We get asked all the time what is the difference between a dry system and a wet system. Here are the main differences you will find with any wet or dry system:
Pros & Cons of Dry Heating VS Wet Heating
Dry Pros:
- Clean
- Easy to use
- Minimal PPE
Dry Cons:
- Consumes more energy than Heat Tank
- Difficult to get tight bends
- May need added lubrication to bend
- If you use added lubrication you will need to clean the parts
- More startup cost than a Wet Heat System
Wet Pros:
- Produces excellent tight bends
- Saturated vinyl heats faster than Hot Air
- Built in Lubrication for easy bending
- More energy efficient than Hot Air Systems
- More economical startup costs than Hot Air Systems
Wet Cons:
- What can we say…Its a food based ingredient that can be messy and slippery if it is neglected
- More PPE than Hot Air Systems (waterproof insulated gloves, aprons, boots, etc.
- Rinse parts with water
- Have to replace Poly-Glycol or Glycerin intermittently, long term expense.
With a Wet System, if you take a few minutes at each break to wash down the area, you will find that a Wet System is actually very clean! The shops that we have seen that neglect the wash-down periodically, look like the stereo-typical glycerin shops. Don’t let this discourage you, because we have seen some amazing shops that keep everything contained and washed down. they look every bit as good as a Dry shop!
